LET'S CHAT
Hello Anne-Sophie,
First of all... Why have you decided to settle in Uzès?
As my partner has always lived in Uzès, we decided to move here as a family in September 2023.
Since then, I've never stopped discovering the town and its surroundings. It has such a lovely atmosphere!
Specializing in decoration for events, that's quite a dedication. What training did you have?
To tell you the truth, I currently have two jobs. On one hand, I work for a social security organisation and, at the same time, I've set up my own micro-business in event decoration.
For as long as I can remember, I've loved setting beautiful tables for Christmas and Easter, as well as helping to decorate for the birthdays of my family and friends.
I wanted to take the plunge and turn my hobby into something more professional. So, about a year and a half ago, I took a complete training course that enabled me to perfect my skills in the field of decoration and also as... a balloon designer!
The art and art of presenting and decorating with care and passion... How do you manage your different projects?
You seem to favour light tones and pastels... Do you have any favourite materials, patterns or colours?
I love floral art, a very bucolic and poetic world. But of course I can adapt to any request, whatever it may be. I often use objects I've found at flea markets, wickerwork and so on.
Event decoration is, in the end, a multi-faceted activity. It's both fun and highly specialised.
You're in charge of creating the perfect image for a given event. Can this concept be adapted to both private and professional events? And.. what about the budget?
I work with both private individuals and shops. For example, I enjoy creating a scenography for a shop window according to the season, or for the festivities that punctuate the year. I also work on corporate events for companies, the most recent of which was themed around the Olympic Games.
What are the different stages of a project? Interviews with clients, talks about colours and materials, the location, etc. Tell us more...
During the initial contact, customers tell me what colours they'd like or a specific theme. Then comes my favourite part: I imagine the elements that will be used, the combination of objects, inspiration is everywhere!
I then present my project. If it's accepted, I send my customers a visual of what it will look like. We study it and discuss it together, to adjust it as closely as possible to their expectations. Once everything has been approved, the actual project begins. When the big day arrives, I set up the decor.
Have you been really fond of a particular place or moment since you set up your business? A decoration that became special to you?
Every event is a good memory in its own right. Creating joy is a hugely satisfying feeling. When I see children come into a room and discover their festive decor with eyes full of wonder, it fills me with happiness.
Do you work with local professionals such as florists, designers, etc.)?
Of course! Apart from the flowers, for which I am totally committed to the arrangements, I may need to call on various service providers in the region, whether for furniture hire, biscuit and pastry making, photobooth hire, stationery, etc.
I also get requests from event organisers in the department for weddings, birthdays and christenings.... And I'm always open to suggestions.
I look forward to welcoming you to my world... and yours!
