Gard à toi ! a brand inspired by the region

FR - A Gard brand born in 2024, Gard à toi ! ‘promotes the heritage and culture of the Gard region through drawings.' An excellent idea.

Wine glasses to start with, of course, as the region is rich in wineries, but it's not the only one! There are plenty of ideas at the Gard à toi hub!

‘From the Cévennes to the Grau du Roi, via Uzès, the Gard is big!

Whether it's its landscapes, its relief, its climate (sometimes a little capricious) or its monuments,

it's a veritable palette of French heritage.

From the Romans to other builders and actors in the region's cultural life, Mathilde Sauvage, a trained graphic designer, puts her drawing talent to good use for her own personal brand.

Hello,

and Welcome to the Art de Vivre section of UzEssentiel,

A little introduction for our readers?

First of all, thanks for the invitation to participate to your media !

Arenes nimes gard a toiI've always been fascinated by beauty, graphics, landscapes and towns.

Although drawing has been part of my life for a long time, during my studies I was wondering about what I wanting to be in the future.

Starting with a first year at architecture school, I then turned to landscape design before finally becoming a graphic and web designer.

The historic heritage of the Gard region inspires your products. Tell us more...

I've lived in the Gard since I was 16 (my parents came to live in the south to be closer to our family who lived in Beaucaire). It took me a while to adapt to my new life but, in the end, I fell head over heels in love with the region.

When I settled down with my husband, we chose Saint-Dézéry, a little town close to Uzès. The perfect place for creative work, and one where we quickly forged links with our new community.

Gard à toi ! is already a brand riding high don't you think?

Yes, Gard à toi ! is doing great, despite the fact that I also work as a graphic and web designer in a small communications agency, Acor - Noveo Solutions, in Alès, where I handle communications for various clients, creating logos, websites, posters, signs, community management, catalogues, etc. In addition, I also give digital courses in a CFA (Apprentices formation centre) to teach BTS students how to create websites.

Lavande gard a toiYour first collection consists of wine glasses...

Right, and I love this product! In a way, it's the emblem of my brand, just like the black and white colors, which is the basis of my designs for Gard à toi!

The stylish yet relaxed feel of a glass that you can take out for any occasion without question...

How are you going to develop your offer?

I've always got lots of ideas, but being able to develop them isn't always easy, because you often have to invest in quantity. So you have to think carefully so as to make sure you like the finished product.

Of course, I'd like to make other objects, always in the spirit of durability and usefulness. I've also thought about a game and other collections of my unbreakable glasses!

In short, there's no shortage of projects - you just have to give it time.

Your unbreakable glasses have already been invited to a number of events, both private and in the media. What are your next collaborations or partnerships?

I've recently formed a partnership with Stéf' Events in Uzès, which is launching her own events company. My glasses will be available for hire at her events, such as the launch party on 4 April at the Château d'Arpaillargues.

For the moment, there are no other partnerships in sight, but I'd be delighted to offer my products to companies for events or as corporate gifts for their employees. The possibilities are many - and varied - and I'm open to any suggestions.

Piscine gard a toi

Your designs feature the ramparts of Aigues-Mortes, the arenas of Nîmes, the Pont-du-Gard, the Duchy of Uzès... What other monuments inspire you?

I've obviously started with the most emblematic ones, which are also my favourites. Nevertheless, the Gard region has so many architectural and natural treasures. One can only be inspired!

I'd like to work on the Grau-du-Roi, Beaucaire castle, the Mont Aigoual climatograph, Villeneuve-les-Avignons, Portes castle, Uzès cathedral and so on.

And then, of course, if local authorities want to create their own glass, to promote tourism in particular, this can be talked about, of coursr. This is part of the dynamic collaboration that I am looking to develop.

Many thanks to Mathilde Sauvage for her contribution to the Art de Vivre section of the blog.
