Le P'tit Moutas, a community café in Sagriès

The community café Le P'tit Moutas in Sagriès opened its doors in last November. Housed in an old agricultural shed restored by its owner, François Reboul of Domaine de Malaïgue, the place was designed to welcome members in a friendly atmosphere.

FR - The café's team of volunteers, including its president, Aurélie Marteau, and her close associates, Pascale Reboul and Marc Personnaz, are gradually setting up the premises. The foyer has been furnished, the bar set up, the games installed and the small shared library stocked with books and magazines.

In all, around twenty people are involved on a daily basis to ensure that the café runs smoothly and is open 4 days a week to the 160 members (and still going up) who have already joined, following the concept of revitalising village life!

What's on?

P'tit Moutas café offers a wide range of workshops throughout the year as the composting one, organised in collaboration with the SICTOMU (taking care of the waste in Uzès), the workshop on how to make your own Christmas wreaths or candles and so on for the following upcoming months...

Also on the agenda are a tartiflette evening, a partnership with Les amis de la médiathèque de Sanilhac-Sagriès for its memory workshop, and several projects for children.

There are also plans for a shop selling regional craft products, including honey, lavender, Provençal herbs, vegetables and beauty products. This will consolidate our position as a supporter of local life," insists Aurélie.

The group of volunteers also has ideas for welcoming hikers who explore the local trails, in particular the sentier des fileuses (spinner's path) just a stone's throw away, as well as discovering the plants of the garrigue...

Don't hesitate to share any idea or suggestion for collaboration. The P'tit Moutas team is always ready to listen.

Good to know: Le P'tit Moutas also writes a newsletter to keep the team and members in touch (discussions, forum, questions, etc). Sign up!

At the inauguration on 18 November, a documentary on Sagriès was shown and Estelle Reynaud from ACEGAA (the Gard's support centre for community life) gave a talk. Also of note was the participation of the Méli Mélo choir!
