Little trip to the beaches of Méjannes-le-Clap
FR - Did you know that Méjannes-le-Clap had beaches ?
Well follow the guide and find out more !
The beaches of the Valley of the river Cèze are a haven of peace in middle of the natural landscape of the Gard, at about 30 km from Uzès.
Leaving Méjannes-le-Clap, 3 beaches are reachable by car, or even on foot for the more sporty one, as some hiking paths lead to them, or from them to find another tourism attraction.
Sheltered by the rocky canyon of the river Cèze, the beaches of the Roy (the king), Quittard and Terris are a promise of a fresh place where to spend you summer day or enjoy all year long.
But where are they ?
You will need some 15 minutes to reach the beach of the Roy, at about 7 km from Méjannes-le-Clap, going down (… and then up to find the road to the others ones !), a rocky dirt road, and about the same time to reach the beaches of Quittard and Terris, which are one next to the other.
Good to know
Fully equiped with parkings, picnic tables, etc, those destinations are a nice way to enjoy your day, and admire the biodiversity around.
Careful though, as there is no lifeguard down there… But still, the swim is joyful anyway.
Just remember that the place is to be avoid whenever there is a storm or a rise, as the river banks can be flooded…
