The Maison æterna's guest house in Salazac
With its plunging view over the nearby valley, the Maison æterna's guest room is an invitation to enjoy south of France in a very pleasant way.
(FR) - Located on the first floor of a former café that has been successfully converted into an artisanal oil mill, in the small Gard village of Salazac, Maison æterna's guest room is an invitation to relax and enjoy the surrounding area, with its rich historical and natural heritage.
And from late spring to early fall why not take the opportunity to make the most of some delicious moments around the swimming pool, set in the very heart of a small landscaped garden where it's so good to simply live nonchalantly ?
Tastefully set and decorated, with the just measure between rural simplicity and bucolic design, Maison æterna's guest room has everything to please. The icing on the cake ? A small bottle of olive oil is waiting for you on the bedside table, a nod to the main activity of the owner, Sandrine del Piano, whom we met earlier to talk about her award-winning oils.

Sandrine will be more than glad to advise you on both your sightseeing trips and your local discoveries. A few ideas? Well, take a look at the Chartreuse de Valbonne, an ancient monastery founded in 1204, situated in the centre of the Valbonne forest and listed as French National Heritage.
There are also Monclus, Cornillon, Goudargues, Vénéjan, the medieval town of Aiguèze, on the border between the Gard and Ardèche departments and Pont-Saint-Esprit, with its town houses and museum of sacred art.
When it comes to terroir, the choice is equally vast. You can visit and taste the beers of the local Etienne brewery La Gervoise in Saint-Gervais, or the natural wines from Domaine de Gressac and organic wines from the Monastère de Solan. While visiting Uzès and its famous street market on the central place aux herbes, you can also have a look at the delicatessen @Dandys dodus and its wide variety of local products...
And, we had to ask... Although only one room is currently available to rent, can we expect to see one or two more as welcoming as the first one opening soon? Unfortunately not, says Sandrine.
So let's say that it is a rare privilege to have this little piece of Gard countryside all to yourself, if only for a few hours....
